Preconception

My name is Sanne Voogt. I’m a midwife with over ten years of experience in maternity care and an expert in fertility issues. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and was told that spontaneous pregnancy was unlikely. During that time, I felt I lacked support that went beyond the medical picture.

That was the beginning of a journey. I discovered how much I could do to support my fertility. This included healthy eating, lifestyle changes, supplements, and learning to truly listen to my body.

Fertility isn’t just about hormones or a perfect cycle. It’s also about how safe you feel in your own body.

When your body constantly receives signals of impending “danger,” for example, due to stress, perfectionism, excessive exercise, inadequate nutrition, or constant self-criticism, your system automatically switches to survival mode. And in that mode, fertility simply isn’t a priority.
